This is a short video showing the Husqvarna forest axe put to work. In this video, I show how you can split wood and move straight to carving a spoon to the final shape.
The Husqvarna Forest Axe provides some very steep competition for other high-end models and is the most popular Swedish axe type for the last 50 years.
The Husqvarna Forest Axe is, in my opinion, the most value for your hard-earned money. If you’re looking for an off the shelf, ready to go axe that can do almost everything then I would pick one up.
They’ve even become so popular you can now buy three packs and for less than the cost of a Gransfors Bruks forest axe. Now don’t get me wrong, they’re not ideal for everything, but when you can’t afford a bunch of specialty axes or just want something affordable to beat up you can’t find a better option for the price. Not unless you want to restore your own and even then it’s becoming tough as vintage prices continue to rise.
In this video I demonstrate how versatile The Husqvarna forest axe can be. Starting with splitting a few apple wood rounds with axe and mallet. Followed by a quick demo showing how well this axe works for detailed carving work.
After about a year’s worth of use I’m so impressed I will definitely be buying the hatchet this summer.
